The 7004-W3D RK3D Whisper represents the next generation of potter’s wheels. Responsive and high torque at all speeds, powerful and quiet. This wheel is by far the quietest on the market; you can actually throw and hear yourself think at the same time… The exterior of this model resembles the 7004-01 RK10, but that’s where the similarities end. This new wheel features a brushless DC motor and direct drive (no belt) system. The motor is electronically controlled and operated by a fixed foot pedal and hand lever. It’s reversible, and the steel body is durable under all conditions.
A 12” wheelhead and two-piece splashpan are included as standard features.

The 7004-01 RK10 Lever Pedal

Shimpo wheels have a worldwide reputation for quality and reliability. The RK10 is superbly engineered and utilises a 0.25hp motor to power the wheel up to 240rpm but the traction drive system is such that the pulling power is equal to that of 0.5hp wheels, even at low speeds. Indeed, a particular feature is its low speed performance and easy control. It is notably quiet too - a fact much appreciated by production throwers. A reversing switch is fitted. The wheel also has adjustable feet for stability on uneven floors. The steel body is of strong construction and incorporates rubber lined handgrips for easy movement. A 305mm (12”) removable wheelhead is fitted and the wheel has a two-piece splashpan which is easily removable for cleaning. This standard version has a foot pedal and hand lever fitted and can be set to maintain any selected speed.
